Timing Workshop in Melbourne, Oct. 18, 2015

The MRF timing workshop will be held from 9:00 am to 12:15 pm on Sunday, October 18, 2015 (one day prior to the start of the ICALEPCS 2015 conference) at the Melbourne Conference and Exhibition Centre.

We will be having a presentation on the latest products from MRF — including new VME hardware and active delay drift compensation.  We also are soliciting your contributions on interesting things you are doing with your timing system.  If you have a paper in the Timing and Synchronization track, this would be an excellent opportunity to give a more technical presentation about your poster or your talk.

This year we are considering is a “beginners tutorial” session which will probably be held Tuesday morning after the keynote talk..
The idea would be to cover the basic steps for getting started such as:
- Initializing the event generator
- Setting up a simple sequence
- Initializing the event receiver
- Setting up a pulser
We are thinking 3 20-minute (or so) sessions.  One for EPICS, one for TANGO, and one for Real-Time Linux.

We would like to know a) if you would be interested in attending one or more of these sessions, and b) would you be willing to present one or more of these sessions?

You can register for the workshop through the ICALEPCS registration page (http://www.icalepcs2015.org/registration/). The registration fee is $75 (Australian), which covers the cost of the room and refreshments.  You can still register for the workshop at the same rate, even after June 29.

You can send presentations to Eric Björklund (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.).  For more information, contact Eric Björklund (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.).

Timing Workshop in Prague, June 2014

We will have a small timing workshop in Prague on Thursday, June 5th 2014. It will be held at the ELI Beamlines -facility from 11:00 to 17:00. The address is:

Fyzikální ústav AV ČR, v.v.i./ ELI Beamlines
Harfa Office Park, 5th floor
Českomoravská 2420/15
190 93 Praha 9

In this workshop we will be focusing on the requirements of new projects ELI, SwissFEL, ESS and to find ways to implement timing systems for these machines. We are also on the way towards a next generation of the timing system with new hardware coming up. Major changes include support for a higher speed event clock and fiber delay drift compensation.

Please present your timing challenges so we can discuss them and help you towards a solution.
